Beginner Make-up Bag Sewing Course – Level1

If you’ve never touched a sewing machine—or have always admired handmade pieces from afar—this beginner’s sewing class is the perfect place to start. Designed to be relaxed, friendly, and confidence‑building, this class gently introduces you to the basics of sewing while guiding you step by step through your very first project. There’s no pressure, no experience required, and no such thing as a silly question—just creativity, encouragement, and the joy of discovering what you can make with your own two hands.

Level 1 Beginners Class (Theory & Practical)

This class is ideal if you are a complete starter and have never touched a sewing machine or fiddled around with a sewing machine but not quite there yet when it comes to using it to its full potential.

You’ll be guided through the fundamentals of using a sewing machine and gain hands-on experience through confidence-building projects.

  • Safety protocols & machine care
  • Threading of the sewing machine
  • Machine needles / threading a machine and bobbin winding
  • Machine stitches (stitch book included)
  • How to straight stitch / curve stitching

  • Sewing tools (various scissor, rulers, ripper etc)
  • Fabric variations / types & textures / grains / placement

Notes

All sewing classes are for anyone 13 and up.  Classes for younger individuals are offered on a smaller scale from ages 7 to 12.

There will be no make-up classes unless you go on a waiting list until a spot becomes available during another class

Each class will consist of a 15minute coffee break to network and relax and share your thoughts.
